Going into the game, all the talk was on the Hawaiian, Marcus Mariota, and with good reason. The Hawaiian had won a trophy given to the best football player in college football, the Heisman trophy. Oregon had taken out the previous champion, Florida State. Ohio State stopped the Tide from rolling, and made it low tide. Urban Meyer, who is a native of Toledo, Ohio, won two national championships when he was the Gators’ head coach, before coming to the Buckeyes in 2012. Urban was coach of the Gators from 2008 to 2010, until he stepped down due to health reasons, and took a job in Bristol where he resided until he took the job with the Buckeyes. He guided them to his third title. One of the reasons for the dismantling of the Ducks was because Urban practiced how they liked to play. Ohio State followed him, and they have a national championship in Columbus, Ohio because of it. Ohio state won 42- 20 against the Ducks.
