Going into Monday night’s matchup between the Baylor Bears and the Arkansas Razorbacks, the whole country was talking about a Bear named Jonathan Tchamwa Tchatchuoua. Boy, did he ever put on a show. I was very impressed with Big John and his ambidextrous skills, and his ability to slam the ball with authority. When he gets his motor running, look out, because it’s hard to stop him. He knows what to do with the ball. If Michigan wins against the fight on USC Trojans tonight, they are going to have to come up with a plan for Jonathan. Your broadcast team last night was Jim Nance and Billy Raftery, along with CBS color commentator Tracy Wolfson, who you see in the fall when it comes to the NFL Game of the Week. When a basketball game starts, Billy says “man to man” if he sees the defense in a man to man rotation. As for Arkansas, who only scored 72 points, they gave themselves a one way ticket back to Fayetteville, and a chance to eat bacon. I believe bacon is made out of pork, which pigs are known for. As for the Bears, and Jonathan, they will move one step closer to taking down the net on championship Monday night in the heartland. I don’t know how many times I’ve been able to see different areas that I recognize from my home state. CBS does a wonderful job of showing particular landmarks that this Hoosier likes to see in prime time.
It’s great that Lucas Oil Stadium can be a multi use facility. In the fall, it becomes a horse stable full of your and my Hoosier State’s favorite football team. At other times, it has hosted big events, like the Big 10 championship for football, which most of you wish that West Lafayette was involved in. But lately, it has been the home for the Ohio State Buckeyes and Gus Johnson, who announces college football in the fall with Joe Klatt and the All American Girl, according to Mr. Johnson, Jenny Taft. You can tell Gus really loves his job, because whenever he announces, the passion comes out, no matter what football team he is in front of.
