On one side of the rink, you have my close personal friend Marty Murray, who almost brought home the big trophy from the NAHL one year ago in the Robertson Cup final game. And on the other side will be the team that I work for each and every weekend during the regular season and whose players and coaches know me like family. If this season is any indication, there is no love lost between these two North Dakota NAHL teams. This is destined to be a hard hitting best of five series, and I feel that whichever goalie is playing his best will improve his team’s chances to advance to the championship round for the NAHL Central Division.
I give the coaching edge to Head Coach Layne Sedevie of the Bobcats, because of his Robertson Cup coaching experience he had as an assistant coach with the 2010 Robertson Cup champion Bobcats with Head Coach Byron Pool, to go along with leading the Bobcats to six Central Division Central Cups. Hopefully, Coach Sedevie can lead his team to Blaine MN this season to play in the Robertson Cup, May 10-14.
Games 1 and 2 will be played in Minot at the Maysa Arena this Friday and Saturday. Action will return to Bismarck at the VFW Sports Center the following weekend on the 19th and 20th for games 3 and 4 (if necessary) with the deciding 5th game (if necessary) back in Minot on Tuesday, April 22nd.
