In replying to our question about the responsibilities of being the Associate Head Coach of the Bobcats, Coach Roth mentioned that his first responsibility is to recruit players that will wear the Bobcats crest on their uniform, and also to act as a go-between between the players and Head Coach Layne Sedevie. Talking to the head coach can be very daunting for young NAHL junior hockey league players.
When rating the team so far this young season, Coach Roth gives the team a grade of B+. Getting three out of four points last weekend against the Minot Minotauros was very rewarding against a team that has a lot more experience then the Bobcats have, with eleven rookie players currently on the roster. Coach Roth feels that if the young Bobcats can buy into the team concept, this will lead to a playoff spot at the end of the season, where he can see the team right now achieving 35 wins without any major setbacks such as injuries.
Coach Roth is expecting a tough home and home series this weekend with the Aberdeen Wings, who reside in second place in the NAHL Central Division with 17 points, currently four points ahead of the fourth place Bobcats. The Bobcats have played the fewest games in the NAHL this season with only ten games played so far.
