Even though Jake Arrieta has not performed up to his standards lately, with a 4-3 record, Arrieta is a World Series champion and he can turn it on at any time because he knows how to pitch. I don’t think it is up to Pitching Coach Chris Bosio to tell his pitchers how to pitch, it is up to each individual pitcher to perform on the bump everyday to his capabilities.
The Cubs bats which had been silent, finally came alive in last nights 9-5 victory against the Cincinnati Reds pounding out a total 13 hits which had Cincinnati pitchers seeing red as the Cubs pulled even with the Reds record at 19-19, still only 2 1/2 games behind the first place St. Louis Cardinals in the NL Central Division. Four Cubs, Rizzo, Schwarber, Russell, and rookie Ian Happ hit home runs in the game.
Even with the .500 record the Cubs play their next eight games at the Friendly Confines of Wrigley Field which should help them be in a good position when the Cardinals and Dexter Fowler come to town for the first time this season for three games the first weekend in June.
