Boston – It was supposed to be a script for Phil Jackson’s LA Lakers to write, but in game 1 it was the 6′ 11″ forward from Farragut Academy HS (Kevin Garnett) making sure he would be the lead actor. He had plenty of help from the cast around him, but not without some scary moments. Paul Pierce went down with an injured knee, but promptly came back and rained 3-balls in the Lakers faces. The zen master, Phil Jackson, has the chance to tie the Celtics great Red Auerbach if he wins the Larry O’Brien trophy (he would then have 10 championship rings). It was a great game for Kevin Garnett, who had never appeared in the NBA Finals before. Final Score: Celtics – 98, Lakers – 88. What will happen in game 2? Find out on Sunday, as the boys from Hollywood battle the legends of Larry Bird and Kareem Abdul Jabbar.
