Bismarck, North Dakota
As they are coming into the most important time of their season, the Bismarck Bobcats have been inflicted with the injury bug which is not what you need when you are trying to make the playoffs and to go after the NAHL ultimate prize, the Robertson Cup. Assistant Bobcat Head Coach Garrett Roth said that they will need to play with a shortened lineup against the third place Minnesota Wilderness at the VFW Sports Center this weekend. The Bobcats are currently in a fourth place tie with their rival the Minot Minotauros, who have two games in hand over the Capital City Kitties and only trail the third place Wilderness by three points in the NAHL Central Division standings. Minnesota also has two games in hand over the Bobcats.
Roth also mentioned that the Bobcats need to stop turning over the puck in the neutral zone as often they have been in their recent three games, which they have lost by identical 4-1 scores. Shooting the biscuit with a purpose would greatly help their cause also.
The Bobcats must sweep the Wilderness into the quiet this weekend to keep their playoff hopes alive. Meanwhile, the boys of Minot host the second place Austin Bruins for two games at the Maysa Pepsi Arena. The Bobcats will be big Bruin fans this weekend, hoping that Austin sweeps the Minotauros also.
It will definitely be an interesting weekend in North Dakota for NAHL hockey fans.
