On Sunday afternoon, jeremiahboyce.com was watching the art of pitching by Carlos Lopez of Alcorn State. As he pitched a marvelous game, despite giving up nine hits in 6.2 innings. Tristen Hudson came on in relief to shut down the Honkers with four strikeouts in the final 2.1 innings leaving little for Rochester to honk their horns about.
Going into the game, the first place Larks had a target on their back, but were able to shut down the Honkers offense and were able to put forward a consistent effort offensively also. Six players had two hits apiece for the Larks in their fourteen hit attack, with only two of those (doubles) being for extra bases. The Larks had scored all of their six runs by the fourth inning in the 6-2 victory, upping their record to 9-4.
The Larks will attempt to reach the double digit victory column when they take on the Honkers at 7:05 tonight at the Bismarck Municipal Ball Park.
