The Bobcats have a new goaltender. He is from Taby, Sweden, he is 6’1” and his name is Erik Forss. Erik has only been in the United States since August. Jeremiahboyce.com had a chance to visit with the big Swede on Wednesday morning. We learned that he and the other goalies get time with Layne Sedevie, and they work on goalie drills. It’s nice for them to have one on one time with the former Billings Bulls goalie. We asked about the difference between hockey in Sweden and hockey in the US. Forss told us that the rink in Sweden is bigger, compared to the smaller sized rink in the US. In Sweden, the players have more time to use more of their skills for developing the play than in this country. Here, the play is faster and straighter to the net. Eric has an agent in Sweden who is an American. He knows a lot about the NAHL and knew about the Bismarck Bobcats. Eric said he wanted to come here while he had a chance, and he really likes it in Bismarck. He will be a force for any Bobcats opponents whenever Layne taps the big guy on the shoulder and says “you get the start.” We hope that the big guy is able to raise the Robertson Cup over his head.
