On Wednesday morning the Sheriff’s Patrol talked to one of the men who wears the “C” on his Bobcat uniform. When we asked Head Coach and General Manager, Layne Sedevie why Jacob Marti was given the “C” on his Bobcat uniform, Sedevie replied, “This is his third year or so. You know I think if you look at his first year, he was kind of in and out of the lineup. He really bought into what I think is the reason why he is our captain, that’s just the way he works and what he does. This is I think at the forefront of his game was our penalty kill. That and the character that he shows to sacrifice his body and do anything for the team are the main reasons why he wears the “C” on our Hockey Team.”
Marti told us “it is an honor to be chosen Captain for the 2019-20 season.” The Colorado native will be flying high next year at the Air Force Academy in Division 1 College Hockey, where he will play for Head Coach Frank Serratore of the Falcons. Marti’s favorite part of playing NAHL Hockey in Bismarck is playing in front of the great Bobcat fans at the VFW Sports Center. Jacob gave those great fans a reason to roar their approval when he netted a hat trick last Saturday against the St. Cloud Blizzard on just three shots on goal, in the Bobcats 9-0 whitewashing of the Blizzard.
The Sheriff’s Patrol would like to wish this 20 year old young man good luck as he will be serving the USA in Colorado Springs next year.
