For the Mandan Braves, some might call them the Chicago Bulls of high school, Saturday night David met Goliath. On the Century side, it was a chance to show the rest of the state that the Braves are not ‘unbraveable.’ This game had all the makings of David vs. Goliath.
The Braves were out early to a 6-2 lead. After that, it looked like the Braves were going to take control of the war, but every time Mandan would make a basket, Century would reply with a basket of their own. Instead of getting the deer in the headlights look, the Patriots Madi Buck went on a hunt of her own, as she led the Lady Pats with 15. This game brought an end to the Braves three year reign of the West. Final Score: Century 57, Mandan – 55. For the Braves, on Thursday, their first round opponent at State could possibly have them seeing red, when they face the Lady Knights of Red River and shoot for their 7th title. We will try to get an interview with Ali Collins and Coach Amundson.
