The Sheriff might not have been there on Saturday night, but he was listening to play by play man Paul Teeple on Super Talk 1270 AM radio. Sometimes the team that we all love will have nights where nothing goes right. Bismarck lost both games to the Fairbanks Ice Dogs this weekend by scores of 2-0 and 5 – 2. The Bobcats gave up the puck numerous times, allowing Fairbanks to have wide open ice for shots on goal. The Bobcats definitely need practice defensively for the long season which will come with time eventually.
In my opinion, it is just a game. I do not approve of what Head Coach Layne Sedevie did during the second period by being ejected in Saturday’s game. He is a better coach than that. It was only the second home game of the season. Maybe he was trying to fire up the boys, but still you do not conduct yourself by throwing hockey sticks onto the ice and earning an early exit to the Bobcats locker room for the rest of the game. Due to his actions, Assistant Coach Garrett Roth was left to run the team all by himself.
The Bobcats now turn their attention to next weekend where they travel to Cloquet, Minnesota for two games with NAHL Central Division foe the 1-4 Minnesota Wilderness. Their home opener is on Friday night at 7:00 p.m.
