On Wednesday night, Jeremiah Boyce was listening to the flagship station of the San Jose Sharks, 98.5 KFOX, with Dan Rusanowski, and Bret Hedican. The Shark-tank sounded noisy. The fans were chanting “Lets go Sharks!”.
There was nothing that was going to deny San Jose on this night. All that we need to await is a win out of the Eastern side, between Tampa Bay and Pittsburgh. If Tampa Bay wins, they have to travel to Shark infested waters. That means to the Shark-tank. If “Sid the Kid” wins, San Jose will begin to attack Pittsburgh in the Steel City. Pittsburgh is seven and seven. They haven’t won a Stanley cup since 2009, on Detroit’s ice. I have a feeling Tampa Bay is going to Shark infested waters. A turning point in last night’s game was when the Blues were given a four-minute double major for hitting one of the Sharks when they were already down on the ice. You could tell from that point on that the Blues were not interested in playing; they were interested in shooting pucks at the Sharks. They can’t do that in the playoffs. It got them a Shark-attack, and a one-way ticket back to St. Louis to clean out their lockers. David Backes should’ve thought better about shooting pucks at the Sharks. When you only score two goals, and the other team scores five goals, you can’t play in game 7. Game 7 would have been Friday. You wonder about David Backes’ future in a Blues uniform. You also wonder about Ken Hitchcock, and if he will be back to coach the Blues. Stay tuned for more information on the Blues, and find out who the Sharks will play in the Stanley Cup Finals at jeremiahboyce.com.
