It’s very rare that one player stars in three hockey games over a weekend. For as long as I have been the Staff Writer for the Bismarck Bobcats, I have never seen or heard of a player having a great weekend like the one that Forward Andy Stoneman just had against the Minot Minotauros. The Fairbault, MN native scored four goals in the three game series against the Bobcats arch rival, giving him seven goals in 14 games since joining the Bobcats to go along with five assists for a total of 12 markers on the season.
When it came to his recent hot streak around the net, he was quick to give line mates Austin Jouppi and Bartek Bison all the credit for his recent success and would not take any for himself. This reporter observed that Stoneman put his team’s play first and his own play second in helping the Bobcats move into a tie for third place with 37 points with the Tauros in the NAHL Central Division, having played two less games than Minot.
As for this upcoming weekend home and home series against the first place Aberdeen Wings, Stoneman said that the Bobcats need to move their feet and play with the same intensity that they just finished with against Minot.
I would like to thank the St. Lawrence University commit for taking his time to visit with the Sheriff’s Patrol and best of luck in his hockey future.
