After dispatching former teammate Adrian Peterson on Monday night, the Vikings are hoping to make hamburgers out of Ben Roethlisberger and his Pittsburgh Steeler teammates on Sunday afternoon at Heinz Field in Pittsburgh. The task will not be easy, as you are looking at a franchise that has won six Lombardi Trophies.
Both teams come into the game with 1-0 records, so something has to give. I am expecting Sam Bradford to play, even though he is dealing with a sore knee, and I am also expecting rookie linebacker Ben Gedeon to have a good game. Even though the Steelers might pick on Gedeon, I still expect the Vikings “Big Ben” to sack the Steelers “Big Ben” with the help of his defensive teammates. It is a key that the Vikings defense get pressure on the Steelers quarterback throughout the game. I am hoping that I will not see the Steeler fans waving their “Terrible Towels” by games end.
The Vikings offensive line must protect Bradford just like they did against New Orleans this last Monday night, giving radio play by play man Paul Allen plenty of opportunities to say “Touchdown Vikings”!
