In this article you will see what drives Head Coach and General Manager of the Bismarck Bobcats, Layne Sedevie, in the passion he has for the game in being a hockey coach.
According to Coach Sedevie his top priority is moving his players in junior hockey up to the next level of the game of hockey for them. The Bobcats have had recent success with moving their
players on to Division 1 schools in hockey.
But there is something that can get the Coach in trouble if he doesn’t have control of his emotions. Layne Sedevie is one of the most passionate coaches in the NAHL. You can tell when the Sheriff’s Patrol arrives at the VFW Sports Center on Wednesday to conduct my weekly business that practice is taken seriously. He wants everything to be run the right way and if is not the players will quickly know about it from the passionate coach.
We also talked about rivalries. We found out from Coach Sedevie that there are three NAHL Central Division rivals that Coach Sedevie looks forward to seeing his team go to battle with and they are the Austin Bruins, Aberdeen Wings, and their Highway 83 rivals, the Minot Minotauros. Sedevie also stated to the Sheriff’s Patrol that the Central Division is the toughest division to play in the NAHL. He also mentioned that he thought that the Central Division Aberdeen Wings winning the Robertson Cup last season and that the Minot Minotauros being runner-ups the previous year shows the level of high octane play in the Central Division.
The one thing that stood out to this reporter is that he cares about the 20 plus young men that he coaches every season in their goal to become Robertson Cup Champions in their Junior Hockey career.
