After being pretty well dominated on Friday night by the Minot Minotauros by a score of 5-2, the Bobcats sent a message to the Marty Murray coached Minotauros that you were not in the Maysa Arena on Saturday night by growling seven times in their 7-3 victory and earning a split of the weekend series. Minot, however, claimed the first ever Subway North Dakota Cup 14 points to 12 for the Bobcats.
While the Bobcats will be hunting for bears this weekend, their nearest competitor for the fourth and final playoff position in the Central Division, the Aberdeen Wings, will face the Minnesota Wilderness on the road in Cloquet this Friday and Saturday. The Wings currently hold a four point lead over the Bobcats for the fourth and final playoff spot.
Assistant Coach Garrett Roth expects a hard nosed series with the Bruins this weekend, as these are must-win games for both teams. Austin currently sits only three points behind the fifth place Bobcats. “We need to outwork them”, Roth stated.
