Cat Town will have a welcome home for the NAHL Champions today at 3pm at the VFW Sports Center to celebrate a second Robby win. The Bobcats had their A game last night, and shut down the Lone Star Brahmas 4-2 at the Fogerty Ice Arena in Blaine, Minnesota. The Brahmas were the defending Robertson Cuo champions, but the Cats clawed their way to a second championship in franchise history. The Bobcats were champions in 2010 under head coach Byron Pool. Julian Beaumont was named tournament MVP. Beaumont, who is a native of Plano, Texas, helped the Bobcats defeat the Rochester Junior Americans on Sunday afternoon 2-1. Yesterday, Tommy Cronin scored a goal that helped Cat Town ascend to the top of the league. Julian Beaumont was a catalyst, getting three assists.
This was owner Thom Brigl’s second title. Coach Roth had won the title before with the Oklahoma Warriors. This was Garrett’s first year with the Bobcats. Now the hard part will be defending the Robertson Cup and the Central Cup next year.
