West Lafayette, Indiana. The Purdue Boilermakers had nothing to play for on Friday night, except for the right to put a “P” on the Old Oaken Bucket. Meanwhile the boys from southern Indiana, were led by Curt Cignetti. And they also had Fernando Mendoza, who has the rest of the country’s eye on him because he is in the running for the Heisman Trophy, which is given to the best college football player in the country. The Boilermakers were without Senior running back Devin Mockobee. Purdue head coach Barry Odom was looking for a Big Ten win, which they hadn’t gotten as of Friday night. You could tell which team was ready to play and which one wasn’t. IU clearly dominated the Boilers on the football field on Friday, and were able to put an “I” on the Bucket with a resounding 56-3 butt whooping. Barry Odom will have to wait until 2026 for his first signature win. The boys from Bloomington are having a tremendous year, and will play for the right to be Big Ten Champions on December 6 at the Luke in Indianapolis.
