The Purdue Boilermakers passed their first test in the NCAA Basketball Tournament with flying colors on Friday afternoon with a resounding 74-48 victory over Cal State Fullerton in Detroit at the brand new Little Caesars Arena. The Boilermakers turned their 30-21 halftime lead into a rout in the second half, outscoring Cal State by another 17 points.
Purdue used a balanced scoring attack as six players scored seven or more points in the game, with game honors being taken by Vincent and Carsen Edwards with 15 points each.
Purdue will play the winner of the Butler Bulldogs and Arkansas Razorbacks game on Sunday for a chance to advance to the Sweet 16 the following week in Boston on Friday, March 23rd.
