Some interesting developments have occurred over the weekend in the National Basketball Association. Doc Rivers, formerly from the Celtics, did something unheard of. He left Boston, where he would have had a ton of money and a three year contract, for the LA Clippers. I’m here to offer my opinion on the current state of affairs in the NBA. I have never heard of this type of development before. Have you ever heard a coach that left Boston and that basically left the same money on the table that the Celtics were going to offer him? This is shocking and basically atrocious, especially when the NBA is getting a new commissioner. Welcome to the world of Adam Silver! I’m not a big fan of what Boston and LA did, where both the Celtics and the Clippers made deals to try and better their teams which to me was appalling. It will be interesting to see if any other shenanigans break loose because of this awful situation in Boston. Now there is also a rumor that Kevin Garnett is trying to leave Boston to go join his old coach. If I was Adam Silver, I would put my hammer down right away. You can’t do that when you are under contract with the Celtics. I could see if you were a free agent, but I would think that you would want to stay in Boston to give the Boston fans hope. I could see if David was still in office and doing that, but with Adam having to get used to a new position, that is what makes me so irate about this deal. Adam has never been in this position before, and he has always been the deputy commissioner to David. I would like to be in the NBA meeting when Adam has run the meeting because I would like to see how he handles it.
