West Lafayette, Indiana. For the second year in a row, the Boilermakers are back on top of the Big Ten. This year, we had to earn the title by winning at the State Farm Center in Champaign Urbana, which we did last night. It was a surprise, considering Illinois had been ranked number 12 in the country. Zach Edey is doing Player of the Year things again. Edey is the reigning Player of the Year in college basketball. Braden Smith is only a freshman, but last night he didn’t act like a freshman. He carved through the Illini like they were turkeys. Fletcher Loyer is only a sophomore. He hit a key three point shot which silenced a raucous State Farm Center. Illinois fans had noisemakers that said Boiler Down, but the whistle was blowing anyway. At the end of the night it would be number 12 Illinois that would be down, while number 3 Purdue surged to a title.
