The Indiana Pacers may be a young team this year, but so far they have not shown any signs of youth playing like a team that has a chip on their shoulder for being swept in the first round of the playoffs last season. Most of the credit has to go to the former Indiana University star Victor Oladipo who continues to remind me of former Pacer All-Star shooting guard Reggie Miller. Reggie was “Mr. Pacer” in his playing days and the 25 year old Oladipo continues to impress me as he and his teammates swept through Florida in the last two days like a hurricane leaving considerable damage in Miami and Orlando in back to back wins.
If I were the Cleveland Cavaliers, I would be watching out for this current group of Pacers this season in trying to defend the Central Division of the NBA Eastern Conference. Not only do the Pacers have Oladipo who is averaging 22.9 ppg, but there are also five other players like Myles Turner and Bojan Boddanovic who are averaging between 12.6 and 14.9 ppg.
The Pacers now will take on the Toronto Raptors and the red hot Boston Celtics this Friday and Saturday at Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis.
