JeremiahBoyce.com went to the VFW SportsCenter to check how a team that is in first place prepares to melt the Blizzard. We heard one common theme Tuesday morning from the head coach, Byron pool, “communication.” We also had a chance to sit down with #8 Brad Treml, a 6′ 2″, 220 pound defense-man from Greenbay, WI. Treml comes to the ‘Cats from the NAHL’s Fairbanks Ice Dogs. Treml thinks that the Bobcats have had intense practices lately, but “they’ve shortened practices a little bit and tried to get a little more fun involved.”
As far as this week’s opponent, the Alexandria Blizzard, the one thing that frightens Treml is their speed. “They attack really well in the D-zone,” Treml said. Due to the fact that he is a newly acquired member of the team, Treml is trying to find a niche with the Bobcats. “I’m trying to build a bond to fit in with the team and work really hard,” Treml said. Along with the coaching staff, Treml likes the taste of success and being on a winning team. “It’s always fun to be a winner.”
