Phoenix, Arizona. In spite of not having the pole position, things still went Jimmie’s way yesterday. He still showed millions of people why he is five time, and about to be a six time champion. Meanwhile, Jimmie’s closest competitor Matt Kenseth started at number 12 and was only seven points behind Jimmie Johnson coming into the Valley of the Sun. Matt ended up losing his ground with a 25th place finish, and now Kenseth is 28 points behind Jimmie with only one race left. Elsewhere on the track yesterday, Carl Edwards has to be kicking himself. Yesterday Carl was leading on the last lap, and then his car decided to run out of fuel which gave the win to Kevin Harvick. Kevin is only 34 points behind Johnson. Now all Jimmie has to do is finish in 35th place or better and then there will be your champion, ladies and gentlemen. Jimmie is also only one championship away from Dale Earnheart Sr’s record which is seven. You have to give Jimmie credit. Paul and Brad weren’t able to defend, and I’m not sure why that was, but it isn’t the last time that you have heard anything from the Rochester Hills Michigan native. Once you get knocked off, it can only make you stronger.
