On Wednesday morning, the Sheriff’s Patrol had a chance to sit down with Bobcat Assistant Captain and forward Jacob Marti, who hails from Highland Ranch, Colorado and will be taking his talents to the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colorado to play Division 1 Hockey with the rest of the Falcons. This will allow Marti to play in front of his family, as they are only 45 minutes away from the Air Force Campus.
When Marti hangs up his Falcons uniform, he will have to serve five years in the Air Force. Marti has not made a decision at this time on what he will be majoring in. He did not talk to any of the former Bobcat players that are on the current Air Force roster. However, he did get a chance to sit in on some classes during his campus visit. As far as his current employer, he wants to win the Robertson Cup before his Bobcat eligibility expires at the end of this season.
Marti has netted 8 goals in addition to 14 apples in the 36 games he has played with the Capital City Kitties this season. When asked what he has learned from Coaches Sedevie and Roth, he said that you need to bring your A game every night, as Junior A hockey takes a lot of hard work and effort that you need to be a Bobcat.
We would like to purr at Jacob Marti and thank him. We wish him good luck as the Bobcats go after their dream of a Robertson Cup Championship, as they qualified for the playoffs last weekend.
