On Wednesday, the Sheriff’s Patrol tried to go to work like I always do, but I didn’t want to talk to any of the Bobcat players due to some antics by the Brookings Blizzard that I thought were rather bush league. No one should be allowed to attack the goalie the way that Brookings did on Friday night, when goalie Johnny Roberts ended with up a concussion.
So rather then write my story yesterday, I needed a night to collect my thoughts on what happened against Brookings. I did not want to hurt my relationship with the coaches, because I was furious about what happened to a member of my Bobcat Hockey family and did not want to express my feelings with the team, because they did not need to see me upset. The coaches are like my brothers to me, and when I can’t control my emotions, you the fans do not need to read what I feel about any other team in the NAHL. My readers need to hear about the players and what they are doing to further their hockey careers.
I would like to apologize to the best fans in the league for my reaction to the Johnny Roberts injury. When you are part of the team and you live and breathe Bobcat hockey like I do, and your best goalie ends up with a senseless concussion, you have a tendency not to forget and you want to be on the ice the next time the Blizzard come to the VFW den. You want to send a message of your own by making a sign and making them look at it all night long, telling them to leave our goaltender alone or I will visit with Head Coach Sedevie and tell him to deliver a message to the Blizzard and that will be very strong. Even though I can’t be on the ice with the team, their Sheriff has the ability to talk to the coaching staff to tell them how I feel.
