Some of you might not now know this about me, but when I’m not working for Coach Sedevie, I like to follow former Bismarck Bobcats that I’ve seen throughout my myriad of years working for the Bobcats. It just so happened that on a Friday before Christmas, when Marty Murray was in an especially joyous mood, he let me talk to former Bobcat Kevin Ness before they hit the ice for practice while preparing for a game in the Subway Cup. We had a chance to catch up with one of Minot’s deadliest weapons. In this interview, you will read how Kevin feels about returning to the Den where he was once revered. We asked Kevin if he had any regrets about leaving Bismarck, and he said, “No, that’s part of Junior A hockey.” We also asked him to compare his former head coach with his current head coach. When Ness was asked to compare the two, he said, “They both know how to win. They both have the same fire and passion, and both would like to bring championships to their city.” For the Bobcats, it has been since the days of Jason Fabian since they won a championship, but Marty’s team just came off of a runner up finish for the Robertson Cup. We would like to thank one of the classier coaches in the league for opening up his locker room before the Bobcats and Tauros took to the ice, and we also would like to thank Marty for his five year friendship.
