With only one goal in mind, Head Coach Layne Sedevie has upgraded the Bobcats roster. When you are a head coach in Junior A Hockey sometimes the pieces of the puzzle don’t fit right, so you have to bring in new players, and this is what the coaching staff did. The goal of this team is to win the Robertson Cup every year, just as they did in 2010. The Bobcats went calling to the USHL Cedar Rapids Roughriders for defenseman Sam Malinski from Lakeville Mn. Also, the Bobcats added forward Simon “Says” Morberg to bolster their offense, replacing Jared Resseguie who moved on to the NCAA Denver Pioneers. Morberg, a native of Sweden, has not played in a game yet, but is expected to be in the line up when the Bobcats travel to Aberdeen to play the first place Wings. Coach Sedevie still maintains that other players must step up to replace Resseguie, who was the leading scorer along with being the team captain for the Bobcats.
Hopefully the Bobcats can maintain their momentum from last Saturday’s 7-0 whitewashing of the Brookings Blizzard in taking on the division leading Wings, who are six points in front of the Capital City Kitties. Sedevie is surprised by the Wings inability to score lately. The Wings are led by former Bobcat Asst. Coach Scott Langer, who was with the Bobcats in their inaugural season. Sedevie thought that the Bobcats played well as a team against Brookings last Saturday night and expects the Wings to come out and battle in front of their home crowd.
You can listen to the broadcast of the Bobcats on 1270 AM radio with play by play man Paul Teeple as he brings you the hard hitting action of this NAHL Central Division two game series. Game times are at 7:15 pm.
