The kickoff for the Marauders’ third season in the NSIC is quickly approaching. The Marauders return 42 letter-winners from the 2007-08 campaign, including nine starters on offense and three starters on defense. Myron Schulz is entering his tenth season as head coach at the helm of the Marauders. He is the winningest coach in University of Mary Marauders history. Coach Schulz has a mark of 75 wins and 22 defeats, which is a winning percentage of .773. In the first 20 years of Marauders football, Schulz has been on the football staff of 18 seasons. Their opening opponents are the Eagles of Chadron State on August 28th, with kickoff scheduled for 6 pm at the Bismarck Community Bowl. The last time these two combatants met on the gridiron (in 2006), the Eagles swooped down and took it, 21-3. The Marauders look to push the Eagles overboard. The Marauders have been a member of the NSIC since 2006. Last season, the Marauders were number one in home football attendance, with an average of 4,138 spectators per game, over a 5 game stretch.
