Bismarck, ND. On Saturday, August 7, JeremiahBoyce.com had a chance to scope out the new coaching regime led by former Billings Bulls player and Bismarck High product Layne Sedevie. Sedevie replaces former head coach Byron Pool. Sedevie had never taken the reins of a team, let alone the two-time Central Division and now National Champion Bismarck Bobcats. However, Sedevie is not to be measured by the success of Byron Pool. A coach can’t wear the uniform. All he can do is install the game plan. It’s up to the men who wear the Bobcat uniform to decide whether they want to go from first to worst, and what kind of a mark they want to leave on their owner’s new bench boss. The Bobcats have a target as big as the Rocky Mountains on their back and the rest of the league is going to take their shots at these young Bobcats. But in the end, it’s up to them whether they rise to the challenge or succumb and be young kittens. When you are number one in the entire country, you have very little time to sit on your laurels. The Showcase in Blaine, Minnesota will tell us what kind of a Bobcat team we are looking at.
