Last night was a chance for the Red Wings to put the 2007-2008 season to bed, instead it was Petr Sykora saying that he would score the OT goal( which he did). Sykora lifted it by Chris Osgood in triple OT, and the Penguins now have new life. The Red Wings blew a chance on home ice to put the Penguins away. Let sleeping dogs lie. If they would have been able to put the cup securely in their grasp, Nicklas Lidstrom would have been a Stanley Cup champion today. Instead, it’s the Pittsburgh Penguins who now have new life and just as much right to the Stanley Cup as the Red Wings do. The Red Wings looked like a sluggish team last night and were not taking the body the way they should have. As a result, Petr Sykora and the Penguins emerged a game 5 winner.
