Two spots still remain for three teams hoping to punch their ticket to the NAHL Central Division playoffs in their dream for playing for the Robertson Cup with four games remaining in the regular season.
Those teams are the third place Aberdeen Wings with 61 points, fourth place Brookings Blizzard with 59 points, and your Bismarck Bobcats who are on the outside looking in currently in fifth place with 56 points. A lot of questions could be answered after this weekend as the Bobcats go on the road to play the fourth place Blizzard which amounts to a must win two game series for the Bobcats if they want to finish ahead of the Blizzard to claim the fourth and final playoff spot in the Central Division. The Bobcats will be depending on goalie Severi Islkangas Friday night in hope of stopping the Blizzard this weekend according to Coach Layne Sedevie in their quest for achieving the playoffs he told Paul Teeple on the Bobcats radio show on Wednesday.
Meanwhile up Highway 83, everything is coming up roses for the first place Minot Minotauros, and has been all season long, as the Marty Murray coached team enjoys a ten point lead over the second place Minnesota Wilderness and will await to play the eventual fourth place team in the first round of the playoffs.
After the smoke clears this weekend we could know who the final two teams are for the playoffs or we could still be scratching our heads in trying to figure out the final two teams.
