The Indianapolis Colts are without Robert Mathis, who is out for the year after tearing his Achilles during a workout while on a four game suspension due to a violation of the league’s policy on drugs. Indianapolis is coming off of a win at home where the defense played a big role. Andrew Luck continues to impress with his legs, as he ran the ball in for touchdown. The Colts can look for more of the same this Thursday in Houston. They have to be careful of J.J. Watt. It will be a big test for Indianapolis’s defense, to see if they can stop Houston’s running attack. Arian Foster can be explosive and if the Colts don’t put a body on him right away they will be in for a long night.
Another area that the Colts are going to have to watch out for is the kicking game. One way to keep the ball away from Foster is to have good, solid punting and special teams. That means, number one, Pat McAfee has to be on his best game, and, number two, make sure Houston has to receive deep in their own territory, or else the Colts risk having their defense have more time on the field than Andrew Luck.
