News and Notes
The last game for the Bobcats was on the road, Saturday, at the Schwan’s Super Rink, where the Bobcats were defeated 5-1 at the hands of Mahoning Valley. The Bobcats’ assistant coach, Aaron Kinslow, stated that the team would release 1 or 2 players during this week in order to get down to 25, which is the league’s maximum. When asked if fans would see the current roster against Alexandria, Coach Kinslow stated, “you’ll see the team that’s going to be on the ice every night on Friday and Saturday.” The Bobcats are keeping 2 goalies (who will wear the uniforms), but are grooming 6’8” John McLean Jr. for next year, according to Kinslow. Also in this edition of “News and Notes” you will hear from a 3rd year Bobcat and Bismarck native, #2 Will Aide, on what he thinks of the team that the ‘Cats are going to go to war with this weekend. “Alexandria is an older club. They have a lot of veterans. I think about twelve or thirteen kids are ‘88s on their team. They’re pretty good. They know how games go and how things operate,” Aide stated. When asked what he looks forward to the most this season, Aide replied, “The end of the season. I think we can go all the way this year. We just need to play good and as a family.” Aide added that three-fourths of the Bobcat team is new this year.
