jeremiahboyce.com takes a look at how the Coronavirus wiped away the regular season and the dreams of players on the Aberdeen Wings, the Minot Minotauros, and your second place Bismarck Bobcats. In part one, we take a look at how much damage the covid-19 virus did to the NAHL champion Aberdeen Wings. By my count, the Wings have seven senior players that had their dreams ripped away from them because of a virus that struck the sports world in a big way. jeremiahboyce.com was able to reach the defending champion head coach Scott Langer to talk about the damage that the Corona virus did to his team. The virus disallowed 7 players the chance to go after a second Robertson Cup. The Robbie is currently in the Aberdeen locker room where Scott can see it. Langer told jeremiahboyce.com that the players were shocked when they found out that the NAHL had canceled their season. Even though the board of governors of the NAHL tried to come up with a way for the teams to play for the Robertson Cup, the league couldn’t survive the check from behind that the Coronavirus gave the league. Langer indicated that the Wings’ fans would be able to watch their team in pre-season warm up hockey. The only good thing out of the virus is that the Wings get another chance to defend the Robertson Cup from the 2018-2019 season. There is good and bad, because we will never know what the league’s twenty year olds would have been able to do in the playoffs.
