On Sunday afternoon, it was time to bring you the North Dakota side of how the Covid virus affects the North Dakota portion of the NAHL. To be more specific, the rivalry between the Bismarck Bobcats and the Marty Murray led Minot Minotauros, who at the time of play suspension were trailing the Bobcats 6 games to 5 for the North Dakota Subway Cup. Not only will there be no victor this year for the Subway Cup, the rest of the league will not be able to resume regular play, and the Robertson Cup will not be battled for. Marty Murray and I had a rather lengthy conversation about how the Covid virus affects his team. The Wings and the Tauros are in the same boat when it comes to how many players they will no longer be able to play with. Minot has the same number of players who will not be able to wear the Tauros crest on their uniform. One of the players who will not be returning for Minot is Ben Garrity, who committed to Wisconsin. Also not wearing the Tauros crest again is Kevin Ness. Coach Murray said that the league made the decision to send the players home. He also stated that the virus was bigger than hockey, and they had to do what was best for the league. The players were sad that they no longer could do battle as a hockey family. We will have a North Dakota Subway Cup next season!
