The first big test for the Bobcats is going into enemy territory Friday and Saturday and sweeping the Wings. Bismarck is on the wrong side of the ledger. Instead of being 3-0, the Bobcats are 0 for 3, and need to focus on one game and one team at a time. The Cats need to make Odde Ice Center the VFW in South Dakota. Layne Sedevie needs to run the boys hard. Each practice early in the season could make the Bobcats Robertson Cup champions in May 2023.
So far, the number one star in my opinion is from Finland, Vertti Jantunen. He has four goals and four points early in his rookie season. He could be the Bobcats’ secret weapon, because most of the Central Division doesn’t know about him. Only Bobcat media has been listening to the Showcase, and purring about Vertti. When it comes to goalies, where is Oskar Spinnars Nordin? So far, the goalies have been a sore spot, and are a big reason why Bismarck is 0-3. Layne needs to teach them how not to be sieve boys!
