Denver, CO. It’s official, number 33 is back! This time not at a player, but he is back as a coach. If you’re a Red Wings fan, the Avalanche of old are no longer pushovers, because Patrick Roy won’t stand for a season like the “Lanche” had. Expect players to be benched every time they make a bad play, because Patrick is a winner. Former Avalanche captain Joe Sakic and Roy will definitely not stand for another losing season. They were both great players in their own right. I am expecting the Colorado Avalanche to return to the top of the Northwest division. Like I said earlier, if a player makes a mistake Patrick won’t be afraid to pull the trigger and have the player sit by him. You can expect much more accountability coming out of the Avalanche’s locker room. Finally in closing, I would like to give you my thoughts on the Avalanche’s new hire. I think it will be interesting how Patrick will handle the referees, because most of you remember how much of a fiery player he was. It will also be interesting how he will deal with a younger team, especially Gabriel Landeskog. I’m also curious to see how he will build the team that he wants. Avalanche fans, now that he is your head coach he has so many different things to think about, so please don’t “boo” him. I for one am frankly surprised that I’m right about Patrick for the coach. I personally think that this wasn’t the best move that the Avalanche could have made. I think Patrick will have a tough time for a while, because he is so fiery. I’m frankly surprised at the Avalanche’s choice of coaches, because if you recall in my last article when I first broke the story, I was in shock that the Avalanche would make a move like this. It will be interesting to see how he deals with my peers in the medea.
