The Bismarck Bobcats earned four out of six points in their three game weekend, which moved them into a tie with the Cloudy City Norsemen for fourth place. They played Minot at the Maysa on Thursday and beat them 5-4 in overtime. And then on Friday at the VFW, they beat the Austin Bruins 4-3 in overtime. Saturday, Coach Layne Sedevie was happy, even though the Cats fell 1-0 to the Bruins.

The Aberdeen Wings are coming to the VFW Sports Center on Friday and Saturday. This will be my first time to see Lucas Lidstrom and Isak Holmstrom. If you are wondering, they are the sons of former Detroit Red Wings superstars Niklas Lidstrom and Tomas Holmstrom. I am excited to watch Junior A hockey at its best. It’s not often that Cats media focuses on the Wings, because I am only a Bobcat staff writer, so I don’t focus on the Wings a lot. But this is Central Division hockey. Also, it marks the first time that Wings coach and Bobcats adversary Scott Langer will be behind the bench at the VFW this year.
