Any team has aspirations of getting six points, when they have three games in three days. For the Bobcats, that aspiration started out looking like roses, and they pounded the Minotauros six to two on Thursday night at the Maysa. It was clear on Wednesday when the Sheriff had a weekly sit-down with the team and coach Roth, that the team was not looking back at what might have been. They were focused on what they can do this time, when the Blizzard come calling after they play the Bruins at Riverside. We are the Sheriff’s Patrol. If it’s Bobcats you want, the Sheriff’s Patrol has you covered.
The Bobcats had a two goal lead, which might have made them a little too comfortable. In hockey you have to play a full 60 minutes, and that is something the Bobcats were unable to do defensively, and offensively. According to the assistant coach of the Bismarck Bobcats, you cannot take your foot off the gas pedal. If you do, the other team will capitalize and get back into the game. The scoreboard will go against you if you let your foot off the gas pedal. Brookings was allowed to score three straight power play goals, leading to a six to two avalanche over the Bobcats. It does not matter to the Bobcats that the Blizzard have to take the bus to Bismarck from Austin. All that matters to coach Roth is that the boys take a professional attitude into Saturday’s battle with Brookings. This is the Bobcats’ only game of the weekend, and Brookings plays twice. Alex Bitsakis has been having a rough stretch lately, but he will pull out of it, and he will guide the Bobcats to a championship. The Blizzard got through him with six goals, but any goalie can have rough periods. He is a great goalie, and he can bounce back. Hopefully, the Bobcats can pull out of this slump and bounce back to start a new winning streak on Saturday.
