No matter where the Bismarck Bobcats and Minot Minotauros are playing, it is a fun rivalry for this writer to cover. It also means a chance to catch up with my good friends, Marty Murray, the Minotauros Head Coach, and the voice of the Tauros, Nick Hulberg. They treat me very nicely when I visit the Maysa arena in Minot or see them in Bismarck at the Den.
This hockey rivalry is fun to watch, because of the two head coaches, whom I know very well. Both of them treat me like family. Each and every Wednesday, I visit the Bobcats on media day with the help of radio play by play man Paul Teeple. Head Coach Layne Sedevie and Assistant Coach Garrett Roth are willing to give me access to their players for interviews, so that I can do my job as the Bobcats Staff Writer, despite my disability.
I am forever grateful to Bobcats owner Thom Brigl for letting me write about these young men in their effort to further their hockey careers at the college level. Also, a big thank you to you, the fans who read my column, the Sheriff’s Patrol, that allows me to bring you coverage of your favorite NAHL team.
