Bismarck, ND. On Friday night, the Bismarck Bobcats magical season continued as they played Coulee Region from Onalaska, WI. In the first period, it looked like Coulee Region would put the chill on the Bobcats. Coulee was without one of their top players from last year, Conner Gaarder, who now is a freshman at UND. Here is your scoring recap…in the first period Coulee Region took an early lead on a goal by Ross Luedtke. But then the Bismarck Bobcats retaliated, tying the game at 1-1, with a goal by Jeremy OKeefe, a native of Grand Forks, ND. He joined the Bobcats this year in his first year out of Grand Forks Central High School. However, the tie wouldn’t last long. Coulee got the go-ahead goal, putting them ahead 2-1. Coulee then doubled the lead to 3-1. The Bobcats trimmed the lead with a goal by Filip Starzynski. The Bobcats had another goal shortly later by Bryce Schmitt, sending the game into overtime, where it remained tied and setting up a five round shootout. Filip Starzynski made the winning shootout goal! The Bobcats are heading to the playoffs with 29 wins, 5 losses, and 59 points for the year.
