With the engines off, I thought it would be appropriate to give you my view of what is going in between a five time defending champion and one of NASCAR’s biggest pain in the rear ends. Jimmie Johnson and Chad Knaus, whether you love them or loathe them, are just two titles away from breaking the late Dale Earnhardt’s record of seven. Johnson seems to be getting better with age. They often say that Father Time catches up with you the older you get. The only thing that might break up Johnson and Knaus is if Chad decides to take on a new challenge. What we have here, ladies and gentlemen is the greatest athlete outside of the Petty era, and if Kurt Busch has a problem with it he will just have to work harder to beat the Michael Jordan of NASCAR.
