This is one of the questions that I will be following all season long. Another question that will be interesting is will Jimmie Johnson get his eighth championship in NASCAR, or will it be like last season, with Martin Truex Jr. dominating most of the summer and into the championship Chase playoffs? Truex Jr. finished the season’s first race in 14th place yesterday.
Yesterday at Daytona Beach was not a good beginning for Jimmie Johnson and his 48 crew. Kyle Larson swung Jimmie around on the final lap and caused the 48 car to crash. If that is any indication for the year, Jimmie will have trouble getting to that 8th championship milestone. Only time will tell if the seven time king can get that eighth title.
Yesterday’s winner of The Clash, Brad Keselowski in his Ford, received an early birthday present one day before turning 34 by picking up the win before next week’s Daytona 500. Happy Birthday Brad!
