Some people may view me as a heartless sportswriter, but I really do have a heart. Except when sports get cancelled or removed from the schedule. To me, suspending most of all sports right now is bull and they should be thinking of a common way to come together to battle this Coronavirus mess united instead of each sport coming up with their own plans right now to protect the players and the paying spectators.
Right now, professional sports are acting like a bunch of wussies. The baseball fans in Seattle are not to act like children when their local team does not play at Safeco Field. The last time I checked, we are all able to make our own decisions on what we want to do in our spare time. If you want to go to a Major League Baseball stadium and sit in the stands, you should be able to enter at your own risk. The same thing with the NHL, NBA, MLS, and the NCAA tournaments. But everyone wants to wear children’s gloves and protect their sorry butts from being sued.
I think each league should be able to make their own decisions on what to decide on what is best for their league. That doesn’t mean I that I don’t care about the players, but it is the stadium workers that I am the most concerned about. How will these employees make up for this lost income, because their teams are not playing any games? I am sure that the players will still be getting their checks.
I hope that this situation can come to an end soon for the employees, the players, and most of all the fans.
