Ladies and Gentlemen, let me introduce you to “Curious” George Grannis. He hails from a city that houses this past year’s National Collegiate Hockey Champion, the Duluth Bulldogs, but he will not be suiting up for the hometown “Dogs”, instead he will be going to Potsdam, NY to play for Clarkson University of the ECACHL when he says good bye to his Bobcat career.
Grannis lit the lamp four times this last weekend at Riverside Arena in Austin, MN, which drew compliments from the Bruins themselves. This gives Grannis a total of “lucky 13” goals for the season. According the the “Voice of the Bobcats” Andrew Weiss, “when you draw compliments from the other team, you must be doing something good.”
Before he hangs up the Bobcat crest on his uniform, there are some goals that Grannis and the team have in mind. One goal is to catch the first place Aberdeen Wings, who they trail by eight points and host for two games this weekend at the VFW Sports Center in Bismarck.
Also this Friday is the Bobcats annual tribute to young children with cancer, where the players and the coaching staff will lose their “head of hair” for a good cause in cooperation with Brave the Shave.
The Sheriff’s Patrol would like to say “Let’s go Bobcats, and barbecue the Wings” in addition to wishing Mr. Grannis good luck with his hockey future.
