Tonight’s game, I believe, will be in the hands of the Minnesota Vikings defense to shut down the Drew Brees led New Orleans Saints offense. Brees has led the NFL in passing yards seven times, including 5,208 yards last year. It will be very important that the Vikings defensive line spend plenty of time in the Saints backfield tonight, where they can also meet up with their former teammate Adrian Peterson playing in his first NFL game not as a Minnesota Viking.

Also a very major key for the game is the play of the Vikings offensive line on how they protect quarterback Sam Bradford and open up lanes for the running backs. Reiff, Easton, Elflein, Berger and Remmers must play well as a starting unit for the Minnesota Moving Company. I would like to hear Vikings play by play announcer Paul Allen say “he is loose” two or three times tonight, no matter if it is Cook, Murray, or McKinnon carrying the pigskin whenever the Vikings have the ball. It is a must that this offense gets the ball into the end zone and not settle for field goals by Kai Forbath like they did in the pre-season.

Coach Mike Zimmer cannot help his players now. The onus is on them to execute the purple’s game plan starting at 6:10 tonight. It is time to send A.P. and his new teammates back to “Who Dat Nation” with a capital “L”!
