After waging one of the most scintillating battles of the 2000’s or even since Parsons, Yarborough, and Petty, a new season dawns without His Grubbiness as crew chief for the number 14 Mobil One Chevy. Can Smoke defend his title from 2011? The answer is we don’t know yet. If anyone can, Tony can. And then there’s His Vainness, Trevor Bayne. He is the youngest Daytona 500 winner, but there are 42 other drivers who would like to come out with the Harley Earl trophy. We now take a look at the former champion, Jimmie Johnson. Jimmie finished sixth in the points last year, which was the lowest finish of his career in the Chase. Another story to follow is Miss Danica, as she makes her NASCAR debut. Danica, a native of Roscoe, Illinois, comes to America’s favorite sport from the IRL. Patrick leaves Andretti Green to run a full time Nationwide schedule for Stewart Haas. I think Danica will give a predominantly male sport a new flavor. She will win a few and she will have a few bumps in the road.
