Cleveland, Ohio. The Minnesota Twins won game one against the Guardians last night by a final score of 20-6. Just when you thought the Guardians had life, the Twins took it out of them early in the game, scoring nine runs by the third inning. Royce Lewis hit his third grand slam home run of the year, drawing the ire of the Cleveland crowd, and they vociferously booed. They wouldn’t have much to say on this night. The Twins media would have fun at the corner of Carnegie and Ontario, saying “high and deep” and “it is gone!” The Cleveland announcers Tom Hamilton and Jim Rosenhaus were not having fun. But there is another game tonight, and tomorrow afternoon, so the Twins better not over celebrate. They need to focus on the art of pitching and hitting. Cleveland is going to come out with guns blazing, so the Twins better have their game faces on and have short memories of last night’s game. Tonight, it will be a battle between Sonny side up and Tanner Bibee. The Twins had better pitch and hit. Twenty runs last night means nothing.
